Managed IT, Cybersecurity & Managed AI FAQ
Helpful answers on support hours, contracts, on-site service and AI subscriptions.
What does “managed IT” include?
Everything an in-house IT department would handle: friendly help desk support by phone, remote and on-site help, cybersecurity protection, backup, phone system support, keeping your computers updated, setting up and removing user accounts, buying and setting up new devices, managing email and cloud accounts, working with your other technology vendors, and vCIO planning with technology roadmaps and budgets. Larger projects are planned and quoted separately. See Solutions for the full list.
Who answers when I call?
You’ll hear the same friendly voice every time. Our help desk receptionist answers, takes your information, creates your ticket and lets our technicians know right away, so help is on the way quickly.
What are your support hours?
Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. For emergencies outside those hours, we’re available when you need us. Just call 608-441-9888.
How is pricing structured?
Managed IT is a simple monthly price for each computer and server we support, with help desk and on-site support for those devices included. Software licenses and add-ons, like email protection and cloud backup, are listed separately so every invoice is easy to read. Managed AI is billed monthly, just like managed IT, and new skills, workflows and agents are quoted separately, so you pay only for the work you ask for. Your written proposal spells out exactly what’s included before we start.
Do you require long-term contracts?
No. Our services are month to month, because we don’t believe in locking you into an annual contract. We earn your business every month with responsive support and steady results, and if you ever decide to move on, we’ll help make the handoff smooth. For AI services, you can start with an AI Assessment and choose the ongoing support that fits as you go.
What is the difference between an AI Skill, a Workflow and an Agent?
A Skill is a capability your team starts whenever they need help with a recurring task. A Workflow is a scheduled or event-triggered process with predetermined steps, rules, approvals and exception paths. An Agent is a goal-directed capability that chooses among approved tools and actions to get work done, within the permissions you set. Our article Skill, Workflow or Agent? goes deeper.
Do we buy the ChatGPT or Claude subscription from you?
You own your ChatGPT, Claude and API accounts, and we implement and manage them for you. Your data stays in your own accounts.
What counts as maintenance versus a new build?
Maintenance keeps a Skill, Workflow or Agent working as your tools change, with troubleshooting, tuning, documentation and updates to your source material. A new use case, a new system or a bigger redesign is planned with you as its own project.
Do you offer AI consulting?
Yes. Most of our AI consulting starts with an AI Assessment, which shows your leadership team where AI can help and what to do first. Leadership teams that want ongoing guidance on roadmaps, priorities and vendor choices use AI Advisory, and Managed AI keeps everything running well once your team is using it.
What is Managed AI?
Managed AI is the AI equivalent of managed IT: our team takes care of your ChatGPT or Claude workspace after launch, including administration, adoption support, usage reporting, governance reviews and upkeep of the Skills, Workflows and Agents your team relies on. Learn more about Managed AI.
Where are you located, and where do you provide on-site support?
Our office is at 101 Nichols Road in Monona, Wisconsin. We serve organizations in Monona, Madison, Janesville and the broader south-central and southern Wisconsin region, with remote support statewide and on-site work when the problem is physical.
How do we get started?
Schedule a technology assessment. We look across identity, endpoints, security, backups, documentation and open issues, then tell you clearly what to fix now, what to budget next, and what can wait. For AI, start with the AI Assessment.
