Apple has recently issued a hardware recall on some iPhone 5 batteries. If you purchased your phone between September 2012 and January 2013, then you may be eligible for replacement batteries, as your tech was produced during the time frame when the bad batteries found their way into some iPhones.

No matter how much manufacturers improve battery life, we’re always going to want more. The good news here is that we, the individual users, have a lot of power in that regard. Sadly, most smartphone users never change the default settings on their phones even if some of those settings are annoying, and some of them are.

On August 18, 2014, Microsoft issued a recall on its latest security patch, dubbed MS14-045. The patch was released to fix a total of thirty-seven known security flaws with the OS and the Internet Explorer web browser. Unfortunately, some users are reporting getting the “Blue Screen of Death” after applying the patch.

2014 has been a very bad year for companies on the receiving end of hacking attacks. Earlier this year, the State of Montana’s records were breached, and the data of essentially every person in the state stolen. Now it has come to light that Community Health Systems, a company that operates hospitals in twenty-eight different states, has also been breached.

Quite often when you’re sending files from one place to another, a simple email attachment or Dropbox link share will work, but every once in a while you’ve got to send a fax.
